The workshops for Filmmakers & Writers
The Art of Writing a Successful Short Film
Much in the way fiction and poetry use the same tools to create images and meaning, features and shorts utilize the same technology and techniques, but in unique ways that make them largely different art forms. In this workshop, we will explore ways to capitalize on the opportunities that working in the short form can offer. From the way they open to the way they end, short films are a distinctive type of filmmaking that carries with it a set of special considerations that should be understood to work effectively. David J. Greenberg has been teaching screenwriting at Drexel University for over twenty years and has given workshops on short films at festivals around the region. His short film, The True Meaning of Cool, won an award from the American Film Institute, and Interrogation won a Special Jury Award at the L.A. Neo-Noir Film and Fiction Festival.
How to navigate festivals to attract financing

She also shares the importance of networking and, even if you're an introvert, ways to approach (and how not to approach) financers.
